Sandy holds a post graduate Diploma in Sports Medicine and has a special interest in sports injuries.

As well as dealing with the immediate aftermath of injury eg pain, swelling, bruising, muscle inhibition / spasm, loss of function and performance, Sandy looks closely at precipitating factors that contribute to / cause injuries in
athletes:

Thereby not only treating the area of injury / stress / inflammation but preventing recurrence and improving performance.

Work Injuries

Injuries at work can often be as a result of weeks, months and sometimes even years of over use with bad habits developing in the form of over developed / over worked groups of muscles with others becoming weak by comparison, joints can become compromised by the resulting faulty movement patterns, precipitating injury to surrounding ligaments and tendons.

Often resolving work injuries can mean more than just dealing with the immediate pain and inflammation. In order to prevent recurrence it may be necessary to undertake a specific exercise program to redress the altered balance created by repetitive activities and heavy loading.

As well as the immediate treatment of pain and inflammation you will be assessed for postural habits and movement patterns that may be contributing to your injury. Advise and exercises, where necessary, will be given to help aid you correct any imbalances plus hands on treatment to release tight muscles, restricted joints, myofascial and
neural structures.
